White Orchids....A Gift for Treasured Friends

Orchids are a long-lasting and particularly elegant type of flower. Their graceful appearance draws immediate attention, and their reputation as an exotic and unusual flower evokes a sense of refinement and innocence.

Although they are commonly thought of as tropical, orchids grow naturally in almost all climates. Despite their versatility, there is something distinctly exotic about orchids. They are intricately beautiful to the everyday flower lover and are considered to be some of the world's most evolved flowers.

Orchids can impart a wide variety of messages, but historically the meanings of orchids have included wealth, love, and beauty. To the ancient Greeks, orchids suggested virility, and after the rise in popularity of orchid collections in Victorian England, the meaning of orchids moved towards being symbolic of luxury.

Dear Treasured Blogging Friends,
It is said that among the many different types of flowers available, the orchid holds a special place as one of the most alluring and captivating, making them a special choice for the treasured people in your life.

I didn't grow these White Orchids, but I did Photograph them and have added them to my Photo Flower Garden  Collection.  I love the Abstraction of the Orchids in these Macro Shots, and I thought you might enjoy them as well.   If you like, I'd love for you to Copy-Paste and Save any or all of these three for your Flower Collection.  I have also made an Orchid Sidebar Strip if you would like it for your Blog Sidebar.  You are welcome to Copy-Paste and Save the Orchid Strip from my Sidebar.  How pretty they will be for the month of April.

  1. Beautiful photos of an elegant flower. Wild orchids grow here in the spring - they are called Chocolate Orchids - and I'll try to get some shots of them when they're out. They are very fragile and we are happy that they grow in our woods.
