Past Patterns and Persnickety Presentations

First, I should explain the daily changes going on here with backgrounds, headers, and sidebar tags. I am experimenting! It's not because I don't have anything else to do...I do...and should be doing whatever else I do, but don't want to do it right now, so I'm doing this!!! Clear as mud, huh?

Secondly, for those of you who are wondering what's happening in Sue's Sewing World...no present day sewing, but lots of BackInThe Day Sewing as I write my posts for the AtoZ April Challenge.

For example, these Butterick Patterns and Singer Tracing Paper from the 1950's and 60's.  Oh, and the photo of my Easter outfit made in 1963...and, yes, I made it.  It has been fun going through Mother's Sewing Stuff and Photos.  By combining her memorabilia and my scrapbooks and photos, I have managed to write all 26 posts based on the Letters of the Alphabet....even X,Y, and Z.  Bet you can't guess what Z will be about?

Here are some of the treasures found in my Home Economics Scrapbook.  Do you remember Mimeograph paper?  The Letter M post will highlight some of the mimeographed HomeEc Assignments from my Scrapbook.

When you see them, the grades, comments and pickiness  of my HE Teacher
you will better understand my ....Persnickety Presentations!

  2. I would do your math homework if you'd sew in a zipper for me (Z day?)

    1. I so needed you in Algebra back in 1963. I predicted and said then, "I will never, ever use Algebra". However, as much as I haven't used it to solve a single math problem, I have written about it...Letter I in this years AtoZ Challenge. Watch for it...you'll get a good laugh. BTW...my sewing motto has always been..."Send me your weak seams, pitiful patching and zippers"....that I can figure!

  3. I can't wait for A-Z to begin, I want to read all of your posts! Although I was not sewing in 1963, I have fond memories of a middle school (junior high) classroom full of sewing machines whirring away.

    1. That is a great sewing memory...Jr.High HomeEc whirring machines. Love it. You are an auditory learned as well as a visual learner. Awesome.

  4. See, you are an Aquarius, like me. I can easily find other things to occupy my time instead of doing what I should be doing. Hmm....'Z', either zipper or zig-zagger are my guesses (yes, I'm making 2 guesses).
