Merry Christmas Mantel and More

Decorating this year is sparse compared to previous Christmas Decorating Posts here on CollectInTexas Gal.  I can't put my finger on just one reason why.  Perhaps it's a combination of things.  Like, working more and having less time to get it all out, which leads to putting it all back.  Then there is knowing that our family gatherings are not going to be at our house this year.  And finally, I am seriously thinking it is time to downsize...again.  I started by adding special ornaments and decorations to my gifts this year.

  1. Hi Sue - I'm afraid I spend most of my time out at friends or relatives .. and so don't do anything ... but I love sharing with others! It looks quite delightful - full of warmth and love ...

Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year - Hilary

  2. I went sparse last year and then I felt cheated. I pulled out all the stops this year - even though it means putting it all back.

I always enjoy your posts. You doing AtoZ challenge this year again?

  3. It looks just right - made me smile and I'm sure you enjoy it. I like the reds and greens and then on 12/26 I want it all gone.........Merry Christmas!

  4. I barely decorated at all this year. Might be the weather - hard to think of Christmas when it is so warm. I don't miss the snow but it is disorienting here in upstate New York to have a weather forecast near 70 for two days from now. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  5. I didn't want the stress of pulling everything out this year (we've already had 2 large parties at our home this month), so, I decorated lightly this year. I'm happy with less this year. I might pull it all out next year.
