The New Year ~ Starting Off With Pink Saturday

TimeLine TwentyFirst Century
The New Millennium Year 2000...The Second Decade Begins Today...1-1-11

Yikes, Ya'll !!! That's pretty Heavy Stuff this early in the New Year for this Texas Gal to be Spouting.
I was thinking I'd kinda get a bit more serious this year and try and SpoutOut some Profound-DaTees!
Alas!  Not ToBe...Yet!
So, I'll settle for the Profound Platitude from our Millenum New Years Eve Bash!

The Bash Party Favors were 'Keepers'...afterall...HiHoney and I sure wanted to remember this Historic New Year for all time....
seeing as TIME was a BIG ISSUE.

The meaning of time in modernity as a conventional metaphor instantiated in technology is made visible and problematized by the phenomenon of the so-called `Millennium Time Bomb' (MTB) which is both a vehicle for social change and a process for social study.

The MTB is created by the two-digit representation of the year in hardware, software and embedded chips potentially resulting in widespread failure of computerized systems in the Year 2000. Technology is the driving force behind social change as modern societies in which knowledge is power increasingly rely upon interdependent computers to effect rapid transfer of information.

Whew! How's that for some Profound-DaTee!

I think the MTB chip was embedded in my head and set to go off today!  After reading that...

...I have a Metaphorical Headache!

Now, for NewYears and Pink Saturday!

HiHoney and I celebrated all day and way into the night....til about 10:30!  Missed the Ball Drop...again!

Yep, we Celebrated HiHoney's NewYears Eve Birthday at Noonish...you can read all about that in the post below.

Then I set the Table with the Pink Roses China and Green Glassware for a Fancy Supper.
By supper time, HiHoney wanted to snack on his Birthday 'Absolutely Nots'!

So the Fancy Supper Table will make for nice New Years Mosaic Monday and Tuesday Tablescape Posts.

Happy New Year

  8. Happy New Year Sue. We did watch the ball drop but were on our way home by 1215 - not much party left in the two of us, but we had a very satisfying time with old friends.

Hi Sue, Well here I come kicking and screaming and screeching into the New Year and late as usual! Love this post. When I was at the hair dressers Saturday we were talking about how they said all the computers were going to "blow up" at 12:01 2000. LOL...didn't happen. It's hard to believe the first 10 years of the new millineum have passed already. That's skeery! Thanks for the tip on the borders. I fixed it. yay! Looks better. Happy happy New Year my sweet collecting friend. xoxoxoxo
