Now It Is Yarn and It's 'Hand Done, Honey'

As you can see, I am set up to spin, and even have a spool spun which was last Wordless Wednesdays wordless post....just because I was speechless.  Since then, I have overcome my lack of words to express the awe and excitement of spinning my first spool of yarn.  Actually it is not officially yarn...there are several more steps before it can be called yarn.

Next step is 'Plying'.  That's where you un-spin spun spool backwards.  What???  Yeah, my thought too...and I thought I was done.  I won't go into the technical aspects of backward spinning, just know I did it with much ado and adjustments in using two strands of metallic thread not meant for spinning backwards.  Very thankful for UTube and Mr. Ashford himself for plying and more instructions.

Again, I won't go into steps after plying except to say my ordered 'nitty noddy' is somewhere between here and wherever.

So, I improvised by winding the now backwards spun almost yarn around the back of my spinning chair which also spins.

Off the spinning chair back and into what is now called a 'Hank'.  Still not yarn, but close.  Why Hank?

Oh, notice the un-backwards spun strands of metallic thread?  My saving grace that it is 'Art Yarn' and I can say 'I did that on purpose'...artistic license!  Next, a warm bath...for the yarn, not me!  Seriously, to SET the forward/backwards spun twisted hank it is soaked in warm water, towel dried and hung out to dry....me too!

NOW it is YARN and it's 'Hand Done, Honey'.
And so is this....

I am so Twisted and Set...literally!
