Modella and Maneykin~Best Apron Sales Girls Ever

I was planning on SELLING my stash of Apron appropriate fabrics.  You know those with a kitchen theme...like forks and spoons or egg baskets and what's better than Roosters....ah...nothing.  I had 4 Aprons left from my 2013-2015 Apronista Attacks...posts HERE and HERE and HERE.  My plan was for those 4 leftovers to be inspirations for folks to buy my leftover fabrics and make their own Aprons.
I spent several hours last Thursday in Sue's Fiber&Fabric Studio setting up the display.  I even went through Freebie Patterns to go with the purchase of Apron Fabric.  And I was willing to part with...sell...my one copy of 'A Is for Apron'.
The whole 'Make Your Own Apron' thing was a total flop!

Every customer that walked through the door headed straight for 'Modella'.  There she is in her lime green shirt and Lucky Shamrock Apron and wearing nothing else.  I swear she is my best sales girl.  Her and her Irish brogue!  She used that Irish charm on a customer visiting Texas from Canada and before I knew it he had her apron-less and was giving her his name and asking for her number.  O'Connell was his name and that apron was for his sweet daughter Colleen.

Before I could get Modella re-Aproned, another apron lover was stripping down Modella's sister Maneykin.  I had barely gotten her covered with the pink pillow slip and that cute pink ruffled apron with the blue ties.

I was pointing out the Apron fabrics, patterns and book to this lady, but NOOOOO she wasn't interested in MAKING an Apron.

So there stood Maneykin in nothing but her pink pillow slip and me....well,
I was swiping with Square and my 29% Irish eyes were smiling!

Dividing Dual Duty and DMC

Those of us who sew are quite familiar with Dual Duty and DMC as staples of our sewing rooms and sewing boxes.  In my case not only are they necessary supplies...they are another obsession/addiction/over collectible!  I'm pretty sure the 'Hanging by a Thread' quote was posted with me in mind.  Yes, I'm talking about THREAD!  Dual Duty is an all purpose thread produced by Coats and Clark.  HERE is a bit of Coats and Clark Thread history.

DMC, as you can see, is embroidery floss.  It has been around since the mid 1700's when it's trade name was established after it's French owner Daniel Dollfus and his wife Anne-Marie Mieg ...ie..Dollfus-Mieg & Compagnie...or...D.M.C.  You will also notice a J&P Coats skein...yes, they make embroidery thread, too.  And I have some of both.  Some new and some used.  That's why I am dividing.  The used I keep...the new...well, it is ready to sell.

First Tray....Done!
Now to find an empty shelf at Sue's Fiber & Fabric Studio.
I think this one will do Dual Duty!

There you have the FIBER part of Sue's Fiber & Fabric Studio.

Old School Blogger Power and Star Power of Rag Rugs and Baskets

Yesterday's post...January BlogEnding and 2017 BlogTrending...confirmed my thoughts of not being alone in 'Old School Blogland'.  I must admit being a bit apprehensive to bring up the '2017 Trending and Predictions' concerning the Techno/Social changing aspects of being a blogger...or the alternative term...Business Owner.

Probably the biggest thing happening with Business Owners is the trend of dropping the Comment Box.  I'm very pleased to say 'It Ain't Happenin' on the 'Old School Blogger's' watch!  What a great response to my 'PS...Comments Welcome'...Thanks Ya'll.  I so enjoyed your comments and replying to each of you!  Blogger Power is alive and thriving in Old School Blogland.

The Star Power for this coming weekends First Saturday's Chicken Farm Show will feature my new Rag Baskets.  Which along with two months of Rag Rug making will pretty much fill my Booth.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how these new items will be received.  It's been a lot of fun work making the Rugs, Bags and Baskets.  Each a 'One of a Kind'!

If nothing else, they will make a Powerful and Colorful Display...Ole'
