Collectin Santa & Mrs. Claus...Pink Saturday #10
Merry Christmas and Welcome to CollectInTexas Gal's Home!
Ya'll come on in and make yourself comfy!
I'm so happy you are here today to share in this Special December Pink Saturday hosted by Santa's Helper Beverly at How Sweet The Sound!
I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's 'Favorite Christmas Decoration'.
I know there are going to be lots of wonderful decorations and stories that go with them.
So without further AhhhhChooooo.....here's mine!
Candy Cane Santa is the One and Only Christmas Decoration
I remember from my childhood.
He was the Center Piece on Mama's Kitchen Table,
and is now the Center Piece on mine.
Go ahead....help yourself to a Chocolate Covered Cherry!
There sure aren't as many in a box as there used to be.
Have you noticed that, too?
Santa always left each of us five kids a box,
and there seemed to be lots more cherries than were
in the box I bought at WalMart today!
Even the box is different, and have you tried to find Ribbon Candy?
I miss some of the 'Good Ole Christmas Days'...
at least the ones I can remember!
Behind every successful Santa, there is a Mrs. Santa Claus!
That's how he got so 'Round and Jolly'!
CIT Gals' Collection of Santa and Mrs. Claus!
I hope you stayed warm and cozy in my living room and enjoyed seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Be sure and Click on over to Beverly's How Sweet the Sound
to see everyone's Favorite Decoration.
Maybe there'll be some Ribbon Candy!
Post Santa...Merry Christmas and
'As Always, Thanks for Coming and Commenting'.

Loved your sweet Santa with the candy, and all the other Mr. and Mrs. Santas are so cute. My favorites are the real roly poly ones. Santa should always be smiling and jolly. Happy Pinks and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue~I love your mama's centerpiece bowl. And the glass pyrex rectangular thing-y on it. The Clause couples are adorable, too. Oh, also, i love the holly/berry placemats.
ReplyDeleteI've been meanin' to remember to tell you that I have some sox that say "GRITS" on them. But, really they should say "GRIM" for me cuz I was raised in Muskogee ;)
Hi Sue sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh I love your Candy Cane Santa. Isn't he just the cutest and then he always had a place of honor at your Moma's table. That makes him even more special. Love him.
Now I have to tell you, DH and I were just talking about this chocolate covered cherry issue just yesterday. There were alot more in a box when we were kids. I think we get half today, what we did then. And if you remember the box was alot longer than today. Yes the cover has even changed. So sad. Why do they fix things that aren't broken?
Santa sure does have a good woman behind him. He always has, and that is how so much gets done in a timely manner and on time. Good ole Misses.
Thanks for sharing sweetie. Please pop over and say hi. I would love to share my Pink Post with you.
Country hugs...Sherry
I love the Candy Cane Santa...what a treasure. I have several items that I love and remind me of my childhood, but one that stands out is a small plastic Santa in a sleigh with 8 reindeer attached and pulling the him. Mom says some of the paint is missing because I sucked it off as a baby (lead poisoning I am sure). It has always been a part of my life and Christmas. Tacky but wonderful! I also remember going to my grandparents house and having Christmas Candy on the coffee table. The year round orange slices and circus peanuts were replaced with the ribbon candy you talked about. There was also always a bowl of nuts with a nutcracker waiting. Wonderful memories...thanks for the post.

I l-o-v-e chocolate covered cherries!! I remember my mom always had a box of chocolate covered cherries at Christmas. Of course I carry on the tradition! But I too have noticed there is not as many in the box as I remembered.
ReplyDeleteLove your Santas! I have now watched all 3 of "The Santa Clause" movies with the grandkids! Tim Allen makes a great Santa Clause.
Morning Sue, YES! there used to be more cherries in a boy and they had more gooy white cream in them. What a shame.
ReplyDeleteLove your Mr.& Mrs. Santa, they seem to be the perfect couple and have aged well!!!lol
Barbara
that should be BOX not boy.
ReplyDeleteHey Sue, They are all cute and each have their own unique personalities. Your tree is a beauty. The table pair would have to be the very best because of the memories attached. Holiday hugs my friend, Mollye
ReplyDeleteSue, I love Candy Cane Santa! He's so cute and friendly!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have two of those little kissing Santas that belonged to my grandmother and grandfather! I love them. All your Santa couples are so cute...

Hi, Sue,
ReplyDeleteThank you for inviting us into your beautiful Texas home!! No, I haven't seen ribbon candy in quite a while, maybe Cracker Barrel has some. I know they carry a lot of vintage candies. I enjoyed seeing your Santa and Mrs. Claus collections. I am glad you were able to have the candy cane Santa from your childhood. Wishing you a Happy Pink Saturday and blessed Christmas season. Vicki
What a lovely collection of Santas. The one with the candy canes is my favorite. Hope you have a very happy holiday season and a wonderful Pink Saturday down there in Texas.
ReplyDeleteSam
Your candycane santa is really cute and I think it's sweet that he is on your table now.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is very lovely too.
You are right about the chocolate covered cherries. The boxes are smaller and so is the candy. I think it's becoming that way with many of our favorite sweet treats.
I love your candycane santa. Such a treasure. My dad was a chocolate covered cherries lover. We always include one with his Christmas gifts. Grandma always had the hard candy and when it rained the dampness would cause the candy to stick together. Candy and Christmas go together!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Happy Pink Saturday.
Oh, that candy cane Santa is adorable! I remember seeing then - and chocolate covered cherries, too! My friend carries ribbon candy in her store and everyone loves it because it reminds them of their childhoods. Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post! I enjoyed seeing all of your treasures! My two Aunts always brought us Ribbon candy along with other goodies. I never see it now. It was so thin that it looked like shards of glass when it broke. I just loved everything in this post! Kerrie
ReplyDeleteHi Sue-

Oops, 'good' morning. I have to tell ya, our new puppy is feeling her oats and I have stopped writing this post several times to correct her. Her chewing is terrible. lol.
