Then of course there is the Online Shopping that floods our email and smart phones. Yikes! Before I get off on a tangent about Black Friday, I'll just say I don't SHOP on this day! I WORK!
Yup, hard to believe, I know, but 'Crafters, Sewers and Fabricaholics are big time 'Doorbusters' on Black Friday. Why with deals like these, if I wasn't working, I'd be a Hancock Fabrics Black Friday Shopper, too. They were there before 6AM standing in the dark, waiting for the door to open. I tell you I felt like 'SueScissorhand' after 4 hours of cutting yards and yards of fabric.
The REAL UP SIDE to Black Friday Shoppers' at local Arts/Crafts and Fabric Stores...they are the ones who give this Commercial Advertisment a 'Positive Promo'...

ReplyDeleteI'm making almost all the presents this year. I will have to shop for Angel tree, and Santa's helper gifts, since the kids need specific items. Today, I bought shelves for my sewing room, and a stocking stuffer. I'm not a Black Friday shopper.

I know when I found the historical background to the day .. it made me shudder ... especially as how retailers latched on quickly ... we had rampaging customers over here too - couldn't be bothered ... it's not a 'thinking of others' day is it ... however, hope you benefit from the shoppers ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteSueScissorhands - very clever. And yes, I support local - try to do my best. I did not shop on Friday - first time in a long time. The bargains are offered the whole month of December, I'm sure I shall spend my share of money. Instead I pulled down some decorations from the attic, took a walk, read, and watched some Netflix. Ray's off deer hunting, so I enjoyed a sports free house. Keep whipping up cute crafts!
