Deck the Halls and Dinner Table

Fa la la la la, la  la  la  la

Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly.
Lots of Decking Out with Holly going on here at CollectInTexas Gal!
As Ya'll already know, I'm a 'Sucker for Dishes' and this Christmas Season
HiHoney asked , "What's on your Christmas Wish List?"
"Christmas Dishes"!
"Your kiddin'!!! After all the Dishes you posted about last month....that's absolutely
HoHoHo Rendous!

So, I HoHoHoed myself to the Thrift Shops!  Look what I found!
Could anything be more perfect with this Vintage Holly Garland Table Cloth found at a Garage Sale.

As an admirer of this pattern by Spode,  I knew that $8 for:
4 dinner plates
4 salad plates
4 bowls
....that they would not be by Spode.

I was right...they are by Gibson and the pattern is Noel Morning.

As always, I needed to know HowMuch I saved, so on to eBay I surfed  sleded.

The same set NIB (new in the box) plus 4 mugs, was Buy Now for $49.95.

Okay....I'm on a roll.  How about some Christmas Glasses!

Yeeesssss!!! There they were on the next shelf down from the dishes.  Seven of them marked 49 cents each.

Oh!  Did I mention ....Christmas items were 50% off that day!   Fa la la la la, la  la  la  la!

With the ring of Holly and the red band, they look perfect with the Noel Morning dishes and the Ribbon and Holly Napkin Rings, also a thrift find...6 NIB and made in 1986 by Action Industries....and there were 2 boxes.

That works out great when I have dinner for 12 and use the Christmas Napkins.

And now for the Decked Out Holly Table Center Piece

Santa and Mrs. Clause Motionettes made by Telco Creations Inc. and marketed by Wal-Mart in 1995.
Also a Thrift Store find for $5.  Wal-Mart priced at $20 in 1995!
Then Santa Kissing Mrs. Clause Salt and Pepper Shakers..
..a gift from my son when he was ten....their cost....priceless!

See the blazing Yule before us
Strike the Harp and join the chorus
Follow me in Merry Measure
While I tell of Yuletide Treasure.
Fa la la la la, la  la  la  la
(second verse of Deck the Halls)

  2. Oh Sue Sweetie...
This is just beautiful. I love, love, love the tablecloth (linens are a weakness with me.) So pretty. The dishes are just gorgeous, and how festive they look on the table cloth. You outdid yourself. I simply adore the Mr. and Mrs. and that little salt and pepper shaker are so stinkin cute. What a treasure from years gone by. Just darling.

You set one heck of a table sweetie. Now what time did you say was dinner?

Have a gorgeous Friday sweetie. Country hugs and so much love, Sherry

  9. All your photos are so festive and those are some great finds. My hubby is "retired" so he goes most everywhere with me. I find some great buys but hear in my left ear, "what do you want with those", "don't you have enough dishes","why not just use paperplates, easier for you"......so.....no bargains for me.... boohoo....
