For AtoZ 2019, Word Prompts from 'Family Word Finder' ...
a thesaurus of synonyms and antonyms in alphabetical order.
I take the first word and the last word of each letter and match it to a
photograph from my collection/files.
Some invoke more words, and others invoke that age old adage
"A picture is worth a thousand words."
First 'H' Word Prompt...Habit
Where did the Habit of shaking hands originate? Ancient ruins and texts show that handshaking was practiced in ancient Greece as far back as the 5th century BC. It is believed to have originated as a gesture of peace by demonstrating that the hand holds no weapon.
In modern times the handshake is commonly done upon meeting, greeting, parting, offering congratulations, expressing gratitude, making an agreement and a sign of sportsmanship. In recent years 'Fist Bumps' and 'High Fives' have become replacement for the habit of shaking hands in an effort to prevent the spread of viruses and other communicable diseases.
My brother (left) and cousin (right) are not worried about sharing a virus...
after all...it's all in the family.
Last 'H' Word Prompt...Hysterical

ReplyDeleteLOL LOL!!!!
DeleteThat pink wig gets lots of use.
ReplyDeleteYes, it did. That was several years ago, but I'm thinking I should get it back out with the recent hair dye colors being so trendy. Easier and less permanent!
DeleteNo words needed! Had I been given the word "habit," I could have used a photo of my distant cousin who was a nun.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me I looked for a 'Nun', but found none. Southern Baptists simply don't have those kind of Habits!
