The Building
The Rust
The Rusted Relics
To find this Relic of a Bike at the back of The Building was a PhotoShoot Delight!
If only Donald could Quack...the stories he could tell.
Like why he has a Screw in his Head!
More Rusted Relics in the Flicker SlideShow!
They were bought by Harry Ferguson of the UK and formed Massey Ferguson which still operate today
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Massey Ferguson, but did not make the connection to the building in Melvin, Texas. Thanks for the additional information.
DeleteI saw a funny sign at Ellen's blog that said Rust in Peace (in front of an old pickup!)
ReplyDeleteI do love old stuff, remnants from the past.
I have seen that 'Rust In Peace' on photos before, too. Kind of says it all, huh?
DeleteDonald maintained some good color. I like the bedsprings.
ReplyDeletePoor Donald with the screw in his head. He did have good color...they don't make em like they use too...I've never seen another Disney Character Headed bike before. Very cool.
DeleteThe Folgers can...the rusted adding machine...all those rusted relics, the debris of someone's business...makes me wonder what it was like when it was prospering. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed that people seem to just walk out of the building and never look back. Guess they didn't figure it was worth adding up their losses or they couldn't afford the adding machine paper. At any rate, I imagine there are locals who could tell the story. I might give it a go one of these days...Rusty Relics Fiction!
DeleteOh how cool! What a great old building. I wants it (to borrow a phrase from the kiddos!) I especially love that old truck. It's beautiful and reminds me of one my daddy had many years ago.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed night!
Yes, the truck was a treasure find. I could not resist it's rust!
DeleteHi Sue - great R words with matching photos ... it can so easily blend into the landscape ... loved seeing the variety of vehicles and items .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilary. When the rusty relics become overgrown and deteriorated from the weather, they are even more interesting subjects for a photographer. I always intended to tell some stories about some of these pictures. Maybe one day.
Deletelate to comment, but excellent pics. Poor sad Donald, indeed.....quack!!!
