Handmade Homespun Happiness For Infinity

You have heard about the 'Infinity Scarf'...right?  It has been popular for several years and is a quick to knit or crochet gift item found in abundance on Pinterest, Etsy and other 'Handmade' outlets.  So Trendy is this 'Forever Circle', that every Tom, Dick, Harry and Dollar Store have Circled their China Made Wagons to produce an infinite number of scarves for infinite number of necks around our infinite globe.  Gives new meaning to Infinity, huh?

What does this do to the Old School 'It's Hand Done, Honey' knitters, crocheters and weavers? To answer that I will have to step up on my 'Soap Box', which over the years has become a 'Soap Box Stack' so high that stepping up high enough to be heard all the way to China is might near impossible.

So, I won't go there on this last day of November and the beginning of what once was a season for Homemade/Handmade Crafters to pedal their infinitely handmade items.

Instead, I will continue to be a Homespun Handmaiden because it makes me...
....Infinitely Happy....

  1. Like you, Sue, I enjoy making and giving hand made although when I make an infinity scarf, I usually knit in the round and bind off with a twist. I'm still not sure how to do an actual Moebius but a twist then bind off gives me a similar result. Dr. Anne, my vet, sure enjoys hers when it's spitting ice, snow, rain and colder than blue blazes and she's at the sound end of a heifer having calving problems.

    1. I am going to try knitting and crocheting in the round on the next ones. I'll have figure out how to make the twist. It is amazing how warm they are around your neck even if the weather is not spitting ice and snow. I can just imagine how appreciative Dr. Anne must be of your handmade gift.

    1. I wore this one to work today. It's a good length for everyday wear without hanging yourself on everything you walk by. LOL...too much infinity!!!!

  4. I know. You can't assume it's a handmade these days. It's so soothing to make our own warm weather stuff. I think we appreciate it the very most. Yours is cute, Sue!

    1. Yes, I call it comforting crochet....both for me and the person who receives it as a gift. I've been admiring your knitting as well.
