I've seen more granny squares on the fashion runways this year than I ever saw in clothing in the 70's! Pull out some of those patterns and I'll bet someone would be thrilled to have the finished product! I knew about vanna but not about Crystal Gale, but I shouldn't have been surprised. Katey Sagal is another Knitter that surprised me. I'll have to be on the look out for Workbasket magazines.Alleighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040495565517859051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115005019733614660.post-18219021839108961802018-04-25T07:40:30.977-05:002018-04-25T07:40:30.977-05:00Go Vanna. I don't think I would ever want a granny-square top, but she makes it look boho-chique.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17863357756727783017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115005019733614660.post-81873307715600911592018-04-25T07:16:24.538-05:002018-04-25T07:16:24.538-05:00never heard of Workbasket magazine, etc. Interesti...never heard of Workbasket magazine, etc. Interesting stuff hereJoannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11604494404874408870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115005019733614660.post-61260708603110649182018-04-25T05:31:51.037-05:002018-04-25T05:31:51.037-05:00I remember that article and I remember Vanna White...I remember that article and I remember Vanna White promoting crocheting over the years - what a spokesperson for our craft. I also remember Women's Day magazine having crochet patterns all the time. Ah, those were the days! (Strangely - I haven't bought Vanna's yarns all that much. I'm more partial to the wool blends nowadays for the small amount of crocheting I still do.)
