I loved going with her to the fabric store. There was an art to matching thread to fabric. Rarely did you need more than one spool for an outfit. You got a lot of thread for the money! I had a collection of embroidery threads before I started doing any embroidery (I still don't do that much). I collected other's cast off embroidery threads, so I wouldn't have to go out and find the color I needed, the few times I needed it. Of course, when that color gets low, I have to go out and replace it.
