It seems to be a fairly common thing in my husband's family tree. Our oldest son also has my maternal grandmother's maiden name. Actually, he's named after her father - Jared Pressley. He would have been Julius Jared Pressley, which was my great-grandfather's entire name, but David wasn't too happy with the idea of him being called "Julie", so I dropped the name Julius. My great-grandpa was called "Jules". <br /><br />I like the idea of using the female maiden names as middle names throughout the generations. This naming convention is one that has allowed me to find other relatives or connect others along the way. <br /><br />Thanks for another great post.
